these terms

These terms apply to any project — web design, branding, app design, Shopify build, SEO or creative direction — agreed between you ("the client") and PWT Digital ("we", "us"). By accepting a quote or paying a deposit, you're agreeing to them. If anything here doesn't match what we've agreed in writing for your specific project, the written agreement takes priority.

quotes & payment

We agree a fixed price before any work begins, based on the scope discussed — so you know the cost upfront rather than being billed by the hour. For one-off project work (a website build, a brand identity, an app design), we typically ask for a deposit of around 30% of the total to secure the project and begin work, with the balance due before final delivery or launch.

For ongoing services — SEO, maintenance, or retainer-based work — we invoice monthly in advance, and either side can end the arrangement with 30 days' written notice.

Work not covered by the original quote — extra pages, new features, or a change of direction partway through — is treated as additional scope and quoted separately before we start on it.

revisions

Each project includes a reasonable number of revision rounds at each stage (typically two), agreed at the start of the project. Feedback beyond that — or changes that go beyond the original brief — can usually still be accommodated, but may be quoted as additional work.

timelines & your part in it

Any timeline we give is our honest estimate based on the agreed scope. It depends on us getting timely feedback, content (text, images, logins) and approvals from you at each stage — if those are delayed on your end, the delivery date moves back accordingly.

ownership & use of your project

Once a project is paid in full, ownership of the final deliverables — the website, brand assets, designs or files agreed in scope — transfers to you. Until final payment is made, we retain ownership of the work produced.

We may showcase completed projects in our own portfolio and marketing — on this site, in proposals, and on social media — unless we've agreed with you in writing to keep a project confidential.

Third-party costs that aren't ours to give — things like stock photography licences, premium fonts, paid plugins, domain names or hosting — are passed on at cost or billed directly to you, and are covered by their own licence terms, not these ones.

pausing or cancelling a project

If you need to pause a project, let us know and we'll agree a sensible point to pick it back up — deposits already paid cover the time and work already committed up to that point, so they aren't refundable once work has started.

If a project is cancelled partway through, we'll invoice for the work completed to that point; anything already paid beyond that is refunded.

liability

We do our best work on every project, but we can't guarantee specific business outcomes — such as a particular search ranking, conversion rate, or sales figure — since those depend on factors outside our control. Our liability for any claim relating to a project is limited to the amount you've paid us for that project.

governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.

changes to these terms

We may update these general terms from time to time; the version live on this page is the current one. For an active project, the terms agreed with you at the time still apply for the rest of that project.
